The media has been broadcasting to the world how bad the real estate market currently is in this country. What they fail to say is that real estate is more than just homes. It is about the people who live in them and the community that we all live in. We all share the same streets, parks, restaurants, and schools. We live together, work together, celebrate our lives, dreams, and accomplishments together. We hold each other up through joy and pain as a community. So real estate is more than just a market. Real estate is where families share life together. Real estate is where businesses sell their goods or provide services to the community. Real estate is part of the life blood of any community. So keep this in mind the next time you hear about how many homes have been forclosed upon or how far home prices have fallen. We all share the same burden. So lets roll up our sleaves and show the world what the United States is made out of and lets work together as a community to turn this thing around.

Nice. Very nice. Good job to my wonderful husband and friend.
ReplyDeleteSpot on, Stephen!
ReplyDeletePicking up on your last comments, I think everybody will agree, but most may not know what SPECIFIC things they can do to help turn this whole economic mess around. The politicians in Washington have to do their part, but they can only do so much.
I'd like to see a list of the top ten things that individuals like us can do. To that end, I'll propose a few, maybe others can add some more...
1. If you are fortunate to have a job and a comfortable net worth, BUY something. Buy American if possible, but this is a world-wide problem, so even buying imports helps. Money has to be flowing to get this economic engine running smoother.
2. When you go out for dinner, TIP your waiter/waitress generously. They work hard for their money - and they will never get a penny of the bail out money. An extra couple bucks for you should not be a big deal. But for them, and extra few bucks from every customer may enable them to pay their bills.
3. If you currently find yourself with more time on your hands than income - VOLUNTEER in your community. Everybody has some skill or ability that is needed by those even less fortunate. Tutor children; visit the lonely elderly; serve meals to the hungry; help the homeless; erase graffiti; pick up litter.... You'll feel better - and so will those you help. The entire community needs a lift for this thing to get better.
.. ok, that's my starting 3, what else can we do??? noel
